Our EMDR training holds Quality Checked training recognition with three professional bodies, and certification follows the guidelines of the EMDR Training Centre Munich & London. Here is what that means in practice.
Who recognises our training
All three EMDR modules, as well as the course “Improving Your EMDR Skills”, are recognised by:
- the National Counselling and Psychotherapy Society (NCPS), formerly NCS
- the International Counselling and Psychotherapy Society (ICPS) – valid worldwide, whether we train in the UK or abroad
- the National Hypnotherapy Society
How to obtain the certificate
To receive the EMDR Centre London Certificate, two requirements must be met:
- Successful and active participation in all three training modules
- Three hours of individual supervision (online, 60 minutes each), in which you present specific practical cases and reflect on the appropriate use of EMDR together with your supervisor
Supervision costs £110 per session, £330 in total, and is not included in the course fees. Regular supervision beyond the certification requirement is of course available, as is advanced training for those who want to go deeper.
Our position on EMDRIA
Certification is conducted solely according to the guidelines of the EMDR Training Centre Munich & London. Although our training follows that of EMDRIA, we are fully independent of it and not aligned with it.
For psychologists and psychotherapists who do not fulfil EMDRIA’s strict admission criteria, access to EMDR training at recognised institutions is often refused. We think it unfortunate that such a valuable and integrative method carries entry criteria this narrow – and we want a wider group of professionals to be able to train in it properly. Counsellors, alternative psychotherapy practitioners, art, gestalt, behavioural and speech therapists and others are welcome here, subject to proof of therapeutic qualifications. The full entry criteria are set out separately.
We look forward to meeting you.
Yours sincerely,
Michael Raschke
Director & Senior Course Instructor, EMDR Centre London
Please note: these courses alone are not a route to the Accredited Register, nor do they fully equip a graduate to practise as a qualified counsellor or hypnotherapist.
