All the 3 EMDR Modules as well as the course “Improving Your EMDR Skills” have Quality Checked training recognition with the National Counselling and Psychotherapy Society – NCPS (former NCS) the International Counselling and Psychotherapy Society – ICPS, and with the National Hypnotherapy Society. Please note: These courses alone are not a route to the Accredited Register nor do they fully equip a graduate to practice as a qualified counsellor or hypnotherapist.
The EMDR training course at the EMDR Centre London comprises 3 modules, each lasting 2 days. It is made up of a foundation, practical and advanced course. Each module consists of 18 teaching units.
To obtain the EMDR Centre London Certificate, the following requirements must be met:
– successful and active participation in the three EMDR training courses modules 1, 2 and 3
– 3 hours of individual supervision (online, 60 mins each), in which the appropriate use of EMDR is presented and jointly reflected upon on the basis of specific practical cases. The cost per supervision session (60 mins) is £110 (£330 in total), these amounts are not included in the training course fees.
Of course, regular supervision beyond those required for certification and additional trainings to step even deeper into EMDR, are available.
Certification is conducted solely according to the guidelines of the EMDR Training Centre Munich & London. Although the training follows that of EMDRIA / EMDR International Association, we are fully independent of and not aligned with EMDRIA / EMDR International Association.
For those psychologists and psychotherapists who do not fulfil EMDRIA’s strict admission criteria , access to EMDR training at recognised institutions is often refused. We feel it is unfortunate that this valuable and integrative method has such strict entry criteria, and we wish to enable a wider group of professionals to participate in high quality EMDR training.
Counsellors, alternative psychotherapy practitioners, art, gestalt, behavioural and speech therapists, amongst others, who do not meet the entrance requirements of recognised EMDRIA institutes, are also – subject to proof of therapeutic qualifications – welcome at the EMDR Centre London.
